History of Maths meetings - for maybe the not so young mathematicians

History of Mathematics and the National Curriculum, University of Plymouth, 28 March 2008 Organiser: John Earle (c.j.earle@exeter.ac.uk)

A one day meeting on the use of history in teaching and learning mathematics aimed at school teachers (primary and secondary), PGCE Mathematics students and any interested university staff (although the majority attending will almost certainly be secondary school teachers). 

Speakers include: Dr Sue Pope, Mathematics Subject Officer, QCA talking on revisions to the secondary National Curriculum with its greater emphasis on the role of historical and cultural contexts.

Dr Snezana Lawrence will talk on using history in the mathematics classroom with examples of good practice and effective use of resources.
